1. MELTON BOROUGH MENTAL HEALTH NEIGHBOURHOOD CAFE OPENING ON 31st MARCH Just a reminder that the cafe doesn't open until the 31st March. If you are promoting the cafe, please can you ensue that you make the opening date clear. Thank you👍The Cafes provide a safe space for individuals aged 18+ who are struggling with emotional and psychological distress and who may be in a self-defined crisis. Individuals do not need a professional referral; the service is open to the public to drop-in for support and you can visit any cafe across LLR. Our local service will be run by AgeUK and be delivered from Gloucester House, 3 Norman Way, Melton Mowbray, LE13 1JE.The Melton Borough Cafe will be open for drop-ins weekly as follows: Mondays 10.00-1.00pmThursday 5.00-8.00pmJoin our 30-minute webinar at 10.00 on 2 April to hear more about what the service will offer.

3. 'LEARNING FOR CONFIDENCE AND BETTER MENTAL HEALTH' FREE TEN WEEK COURSE MELTON LIBRARY STARTS 28 APRILGOLEARN is offering a FREE Learning for Confidence and Better Mental Health course. There are ten weeks of 2 hour sessions. They will be delivered from 1.00 to 3.00 at Melton Library. Please see the attached flyer for more opportunities. 4. SUPPORTED LIVING FEEDBACK SESSION 24 MARCH and 1 APRIL, SUNNY SKIES CAFE MELTON Healthwatch Leicestershire are carrying out a county-wide project gathering feedback on supported living services. We are working with them to support Welly's Workers, their families, and others in our community who use supported living services, to have their experiences and views heard. As part of this effort, we have invited Healthwatch to do two drop-in sessions at our Sunny Skies cafe. Just pop in and chat to Sophie and her colleagues. Welly's Workers who are with us on Mondays and Tuesdays will be supported to attend if they would like to get involved. 5. NATIONAL ENERGY ACTION - ENERGY ADVICE IN THE COMMUNITY
We are a national energy advice charity that deliver energy advice in the community by providing outreach in community venues. We can either set up information stands or speak to groups about a range of topics such as energy efficiency, managing bills, tariffs and switching, applying for ECO grants, reading meters including smart meters, renewable technologies, carbon monoxide awareness, accessing financial assistance etc.
We have a new Warm Homes, Healthy Futures programme, which will allow us to continue delivering essential energy advice support to our communities. This is a national programme, operating across England and Wales, and is funded by the Gas Distribution Networks. The Warm Homes, Healthy Futures programme aims to provide energy advice and support to vulnerable individuals living with a health condition or disability that is exacerbated by cold, damp, or poor-quality housing.

6. MELTON FAMILY HELP LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS FOR THE STAY AND PLAY GROUP Family Help in Melton are currently recruiting STAY AND PLAY Volunteers to enable our groups in Melton to continue running at Venture House. Volunteering can help you gain experience , develop your skills and confidence , improve your wellbeing and support your community. Full training will be given. 7. NHS SEEKING VCSE PARTNERS TO SUPPORT CHILDREN'S & YOUNG PEOPLE'S WEIGHT MANAGEMENT
LLR Integrated Care Board have spaces available for VCSE groups that deliver community activity to children, young people and families that supports healthier lifestyles, Healthy Eating, Physical Exercise. This in-person event on 7th April 9.30 am – 4.30 pm (including lunch and refreshments) is your chance to join us at the NSPCC National Training Centre for a day dedicated to developing a system approach for children and young people's weight management.
Our day will focus on creating effective pathways to support healthier lifestyles . Don't miss this opportunity to collaborate with each other and experts in the field, gain valuable insights and make a positive contribution on the well-being of C&YP.

8. FIBROMYALGIA AND CHRONIC FATIGUE SUPPORT GROUP - MELTONStruggling with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, pain and illness or mental health? 9. NEW ACTIVE MUMS CLUB IN MELTON - STARTS 27th MARCH Melton Sport and Health Alliance are launching a brand new Active Mums Club Walk and Coffee meet up. Starting next week on the 27th March. Our new Active Mums Leader - Chloe, will be leading a walk at Melton Country Park every Thursday from the 27th March at 11am. Melton Country Park, Melton Mowbray (Meeting at the visitors center). 10. DOVE COTTAGE - FREE WELLBEING SESSIONS FOR PEOPLE LIVING WITH A PALLAITIVE CARE OR LIFE LIMITING CONDITION AND THEIR CARERS Our Monday Wellbeing Sessions are all about creating a warm, welcoming and safe space. Whether it's through our relaxing therapies, chatting through any worries, or simply connecting with others, we're here to support you every step of the way. For anyone living with a life-limiting or palliative condition – and their loved ones – Dove Cottage is a place to find comfort, care, and those little moments that mean the most. Sessions available include Relaxation, Mindfulness, Complementary Therapies, Carer Support, Guidance and Advice from the Dove Cottage Nursing Team with questions or worries regarding you or your loved ones health. Advocacy or support to access/refer to alternative care services where appropriate and Peer Support from other carers within the group should you wish. 11. FLOODING DROP IN EVENT THURS 3 APRIL 2-6pm PARKSIDE, MELTON Residents and businesses are being encouraged to attend a series of flooding drop-in events that will take place across the county starting on 27 March. Those that attend will have the opportunity to talk to key agencies including the Environment Agency and Leicestershire County Council, in its capacity of Lead Local Flood Authority (LLFA) and Highway Authority, about their experiences and get the latest updates on flood related work. Attendees will also be able to get advice on how to be prepared against further flooding, as well as having the opportunity to visit the FloodPod – a trailer packed with real life property flood resilience (PFR) measures. 12. CANCER PATIENT EXPERIENCE EVENT – FRI 28 MARCH 9.30 to 4.30If you have been treated by cancer in the last three years, then we would like to invite you to an event. We have results from the national survey plus information on how we want to improve services – with your input. 14. HEALTHWATCH - COMPLETE A SHORT SURVEY ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCES OF HOSPITAL DISCHARGE We are gathering feedback about the experience of being discharged from the hospital. If you or a loved one have left the hospital in the last two years, your feedback could help shape future services and ensure patients receive the best care. The Hospital Discharge Survey aims to gather insight into what worked well and what needs improvement. From discharge planning to follow-up support, we want to hear about your journey.
Harsha Kotecha, Chair of Healthwatch Leicester and Healthwatch Leicestershire, said: "By sharing your experience, you can help improve care for others in our community. We encourage everyone who has been discharged from hospital to take a few minutes to complete our survey."
