Main Street. Limes outside church

We have today been notified by LCC that they are due to carry out work to the Lime Tree's outside the church and they have realised they have not informed us of this.

They recently inspected the mature limes near to St Peter's Church and found a few of the trees required remedial work and attention. The work consists of little more than removal of dead branches, the reduction in size of one tree, and reduction of certain branches in selected

trees.Climbing inspections will also be carried out on selected trees.It is not our intention to either remove or systematically reduce all the trees without thought. However, the trees are past maturity and are entertaining a stage of decline. Decayed wood in trunk and branches are increasing the risk posed to the highway, and appropriate arboricultural management is required.
